...WINTER STORM CONTINUES OVER PORTIONS OF SOUTHWESTERN IDAHO AND
SOUTHEASTERN OREGON...

.Periods of snow will continue over southwestern Idaho and
southeastern Oregon through Tuesday. Heaviest snow will occur in
the West Central Mountains and Boise Mountains in Idaho, where up
to three feet of snow will fall through Tuesday. Snow will be
heaviest this afternoon and evening, and again Monday night and
Tuesday, but lighter snow will continue the entire period. In
addition, isolated thunderstorms will enhance snowfall rates this
afternoon and evening. The Owyhee Mountains will receive heavy
snow today through this evening. 1-3 inches of snow are possible
in the Treasure valley especially Monday night and Tuesday, and
possibly 4 inches in the Magic Valley.

TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow. In the west-central and Boise Mountains
  additional snow accumulations of 1 to 2 feet generally, with up
  to 3 feet in the higher mountains. In the Upper Weiser River
  basin additional accumulations of 6 to 12 inches. Gusty winds
  will accompany snowfall at times, causing blowing and drifting.

* WHERE...Upper Weiser River, West Central Mountains and Boise
  Mountains zones.

* WHEN...Until 5 PM MST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.

At 10am it was 18 degrees, low foggy overcast, fine light snow falling (light dusting.) At 11am higher clouds, foggy ridges, light snowfall and 21 degrees. Flaking at 1220pm. At 1pm occasional flake of snow and cracks in the cloud cover. At 340pm it was 28 degrees and overcast. Started snowing regular sized flakes just before 4pm. Still snowng at 530pm (scant trace.) At 545pm it was 26 degrees, overcast and snowing lightly (trace.) At 930pm still snowing, about 1/2″ accumulation. Probably quit snowing before midnight. Light snow falling before sunrise.

At 10am it was 25 degrees, overcast and fine light snow falling. At 12pm it was 29 degrees, overcast and fine light snow falling. Occasional flake of snow at 230pm. Light snow falling at 320pm, at 350pm it was 32 degrees, low overcast and still snowing lightly. At 545pm it was 30 degrees, low overcast and still snowing lightly, scant trace. At 10pm snowing bigger flakes, light dusting. Snowing at 11pm, est. less than an inch. Not snowing at 1245am.

At 10am it was 34 degrees (warmer than yesterday’s high of 32) roofs dripping, broken cloud cover and light breeze. Overcast at noon. At 320pm it was 37 degrees, mostly cloudy and roofs dripping. At 430pm a few clear spots. At 6pm it was 33 degrees, breezy and mostly cloudy. At 9pm it was cloudy and breezy. Looked cloudy at 11pm. Snowing around 6am. Not snowing 930am.

Jan 8 Weather:

At 10am it was 30 degrees, overcast and light breeze. Calm and started snowing around 1020am. Flaking lightly at 1125am. At 1225pm low overcast, steady light snow and 32 degrees. Not snowing by around 2pm. At 345pm it was 31 degrees, breaks and thinner spots to the east and light breeze. Snowing lightly again at 410pm. Snowed pretty good from 5pm to around 530pm. At 6pm it was 27 degrees, overcast but thinner (fuzzy moon) and not snowing. Doesn’t appear to be snowing at 840pm or 1030pm (light breeze.) Snowed during the night after 1am to around 6am then flaking. Still flaking at 940am.

At 130pm breaks in the clouds, not snowing and a bit breezy (snow blowing out of the trees.) At 330pm it was 26 degrees, overcast and chilly breeze. At 530pm it was 23 degrees, breezy, low clouds and fine light snow falling. At 820pm large patches of clear sky and bright moon. At 9pm it was 10 degrees, fairly calm and partly cloudy. At 11pm mostly cloudy. Cold night.

At 10am it was 5 degrees, mostly cloudy and light breeze. At 11am it was 10 degrees, overcast and cold breeze. Cloudy, breezy and cold at 1230pm. Started flaking snow at 1pm. Light snowfall and gusty breezes at 2pm. At 3pm it was 25 degrees, overcast, gusty winds blowing snow and light snow falling. At 4pm breezy and snowing lightly. At 6pm it was 25 degrees, overcast, gusty winds and light snow. At 830pm steady snowfall (guess 1/2″) and breezy. At 940pm moderate snowfall – looks like overn an inch. At 1045pm fine light snow falling, looks like more than 2″. Snowing pretty good at 2am. Looks like it snowed all night. Not snowing at 6am-9am then light snowfall.

At 10am it was 26 degrees, low overcast, steady light snow and calm. By 11am it was flaking lightly, clouds lifting to about 6000′. Steady light snowfall at 1220pm. At 140pm light snowfall, light breeze. At 3pm it was 33 degrees, overcast (top of VanMeter a little foggy) light breeze and still snowing lightly (about 1/4″ new.) Still snowing at 4pm and 5pm. At 530pm it was 29 degrees, overcast and steady light snow (about 1/2″ since morning.) At 715pm looks like it is not snowing. Not snowing at 8pm. At 950pm it was 26 degrees, not snowing and light breeze. Snowing at 2am. Not snowing at 6am. Light snow falling at 930am.
